  • 23.3 percent of playoff games (4 out of 15, a little less than a quarter) since the lockout have gone to overtime.
  • Half of all playoff overtime games since 1927 have ended in 8:16 or less. Conversely, half have gone at least 8:17.
  • Once a game reaches 8:16 of overtime, half of those games have reached 17:19.
  • 29.5 percent of overtime games reach double overtime. That's 6.9 percent of all playoff games, or about one in every 15.
  • Once your game has reached 10:34 of overtime, half of those games have reached double overtime.
  • The intermission between overtime periods is 15 minutes rather than the usual 18.
  • The last triple-overtime game was May 19, 2015, in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final. Marcus Kruger of the Blackhawks scored at 56:12 of OT3 to defeat the Ducks.
